[The Fugitives] Introduction the Continent of Khassi

Hey guys, I am starting another game but will be managing a game instead of playing this time around. It'll be my first time, so I hope my players will have mercy on me. Since I don't want to read DnD lore and the many rules, also because my players wants to try out Fate RPG, we will be using that system (just like Iuvenis! Hoho)

I'll be building the world as we go but for now here are the notes that I have on the world and how I wanted to proceed with the story (at least the one I'm willing to spill - huhu).

Map of The World

So the world is divided into two continents (generated from Azgaar's Fantasy Map Generator). The story will be focused on the continent on the right: The Khassi continent.

Here are some key locations:

1. Querexian Empire

  • The capital of Querexian Empire is Klithedrit. The capital is where the monarch resides in.
  • The Querexian Empire is a power house and strongest in its continent. Tales of strength and prosperity of Querexian empire reached even those out of the continent. However in recent years, the prestige has dwindled. The empire is struggling to have a hold of their lands. Corruption runs free in their main cities whereas in the more rural area, none seem to care about their rules. Their subjects loyalty weren't what it used to be. Above all, their heirs dying one by one at a young age is deemed as a sign from heavens that they are not worthy rulers.

2. Country of Bil

  • The capital of Bil is Unul. Similar to Querexian Empire, this is where the monarch resides in.
  • Once upon a time many hundreds years ago, Bil was part of the Querexian Empire though it was known by another name back then. Bil then earned their independence by military might alone. They have since establish strong military troops every year. They have grown very proud of their military might that their rulers think it's time for expansion.
  • Bil have a marriage custom that must be followed by every citizen. Their woman have no say on who they would like to get married to. Men will submit a request to their sovereign and once approved, the woman will have to accept it. For many years, this have caused many young girls try to run to Querexian, or die trying, but Bil, despite being a small nation, have almost always got the girls back due to their superior military strength.

3. Veloamururh

  • The capital of Veloamururh is Kanaglathidi. The council of sorcerers rules from the capital.
  • The country runs with magic. The citizens are highly skilled and almost all are sent to magic academy to be trained as sorcerers. The country trade in magic goods with their neigbours on regular basis. This nation also have the best magical academy in the continent, and boast housing many prodigies in magic. Behind the wondrous magical nation however is highly systemic racism against non-magician. Most non-magician either resolve themselve to the life of servitude towards their other magical peers or move away to another country. Most however, decided to stay in service for their magical peers because they never thought of leaving their home country where it is said to be the most wonderful and happiest country to live in.
  • The country used to be ruled by theocratic priests, but over time they became sorcerers and practice the dark arts that priests have no place in their society. As such, priests became scarcity in the city. They too, moved to neighbouring countries.

4. Brotherhood of Namurmare

  • The capital city of Namurmare is Dupreros. Despite being a capital city, the tribes that governs the brotherhood doesn't all reside there. They are scattered throughout the land. Once every 4 months, they would meet up in an arranged place and time unknown to outsiders, to discuss matters of the brotherhood.
  • The brotherhood citizens consist of magical creatures. It is said that the creatures became alive and cultured due to prayers of their lord in ancient times. The lord was said to love all creatures but saddened by the inability to cummunicated, hence God grants his animal friends the power to converse. Soon the animals formed society and tribes and hence establish the Brotherhood.
  • Despite being magical beings, they do not practice magic.
  • One of their bear tribe noble lady is promised to the heir of Shunbaram, the last of them to join the Brotherhood.

5. Shunbaram

  • The capital city of Shunbaram's is Khamunz. The monarch and his family of resides here.
  • Shubaram is home to magical bears. This tribe practices magic as part of their trade. Despite this, they look fondly to their non-magical peers. The tight bond between them as magical creatures lead Shunbaram citizens to dislike the sorcerers from Veloarumurh. They scorn the politics and racism that Veloarumurh practices.
  • The heir of Shunbaram in promised to a noble female bear from the Brotherhood of Namurmare. This was to mark an acceptance of Shunbaram into the brotherhood. The monarch will do his utmost best to make sure the deal goes through. Unfortunately, months before the date of engagement, the heir was kidnapped.

6. Naruktho

  • The capital of Naruktho is Arukthel.
  • Not much is know of Naruktho aside from the military aid they lend to the country of Bil. They are not a strong nation, hence they submit to be vassals of any country that asks.

7. Sholuk

  • The capital of Sholuk is Kin. No one knows where the rulers of Sholuk dwells in. The citizens who knew kept it a well guarded secret.
  • Sholuk is a peaceful nation with moderate wealth. Theirs is a nation surrounded by mountains. Their citizens are practitioners of martial arts. They are not a threat to any nation as they are mostly pacifist. Their moderate prosperity is not a subject of envy for any nations. They kept their peace with Shunbaram, and Shunbaram for the most part honours it. How they survived being in between of Shunbaram and Veleorumurh is due to their isolated nation surrounded by mountains.

8. Nalar

  • The capital city of Nalar is Ranax. The capital, a port city, is ruled by one of the tribes of Nalar.
  • Nalar sits on at the end of a mountain range. The ruling tribes are scattered throughout the land and seldom have the need to see one another. There is no one ruler among them. Nalar as a nation is so poor, that no one cares much about them. Their port city is properous, but only as much prosperity a poor nation can have.

So yeah, those are the countries!
