As Iuvenis arrived in Neverwinter, her servants left her with nothing but 25GP left in her pouch. Iuvenis was smart enough to pack some supplies however, and her innate talent with magical tinkering could be useful in days to come. Iuvenis felt like a small pebble in the big city, but it doesn't deter her. Even if Neverwinter's a huge city, she lived in a huge city before, and is not afraid of the city's intimidating vibe. Iuvenis proceeds to ask around for the way to the inn, thinking it would be the best place to start looking for her acquaintance.
After some asking around, Iuvenis were finally directed to the inn. There she found a human knight and a dwarf in a hearty discussion. Many workers were busy loading a wagon with boxes and crates when suddenly Iuvenis heard a loud crackling noise as the one of the wheels broke under the heavy weight. Everyone including the knight and dwarf runs over and started bickering among one another. But Iuvenis slowly walk up, moving between the individuals, and with a bit of magical tinkering and mending, she managed to fix the wagon. Everyone looked at her with awe and gratitude. The knight and dwarf walks up to personally thank her.
Iuvenis then proceeded to introduce herself as Iuvenis Wangi and immediately the knight recognizes her family name, the famous wizard line hail from Waterdeep. He introduces himself as Sildar Hallwinter and the dwarf as Gundren Rockseeker.
After a few hours of chatting, Sildar and Gundren told Iuvenis that they need to leave for Phandalin immediately, as they have matters at hand. They asked her to be in charge of an escort of provisions to the town of Phandalin. They told her to meet up with Elmar Barthen’s in Barthen’s Provisions.
Additionally, Sildar told Iuvenis to expect another human and halfling soldier to arrive the next day to join her as an escort. If there are other adventurers she deemed capable of hiring, she may do so as they have budget for 2 more adventurers, that Elmar will pay each 10GP upon arrival in Phandalin.
They informed Iuvenis that the oxens carrying the wagon has been trained to follow the Triboar Trail all the way to Phandalin, and that all she need is to control the rein, and they will automatically travel to Phandalin along the road.
After that, Sildar and Gundren set off riding out of town, reminding Iuvenis to leave the next day morning as soon as you can.
When morning finally come, as expected, the human and halfling soldier arrived at the inn. They were looking for Sildar. As they approach Iuvenis, she recalled about them, and excitedly mentioned Sildar's task. They agreed to be recruited and exchanged their names.
The human soldier, whose demeanour seemed more authoritative, introduced herself first. She is Rana Shepherd, and Sildar is her uncle. She looked to be in her early 30s. Her long raven hair was tied in a loose braid. She was covered in leather armour, though her upper body reveals a pretty distraction as her clothes were only lightly buttoned, revealing her cleavage. Her wears plate armour around her arms and legs, and has a rapier and longsword equipped to her side.
Next came the little halfling, visibly shorter than Iuvenis. He introduced himself as Quin. He has a curly Amber hair and his face features his freckles around his nose area. His amber scarf hoodie, that he doesn't quite use, were the highlight of his outfit as the colour took over the more paler part of his outfit - a light brown pair of shirt and pants. He looks about as young as Iuvenis, though that's her rough estimation given her little knowledge of halflings.
Iuvenis wonders how she looked compared to Rana, a sigh a little defeat, but upon seeing the halfling, she cheered up a little. Perhaps this person is similar to her in experience, given how young he looks and that she need not feel intimidated by their presence. Though well, her intimidation of Rana was far more than just the vibe Rana exudes, but Iuvenis consoles herself in an instance. She was young, she rare wizardry beauty can be fleshed out in the years to come.
Few minutes after they had their exchange, a half-tabaxi walked into the inn.. The tabaxi has messy light blonde hair that extends to his ears. On his head rests a pair of goggles. He wears a red coloured half-cloak with some baggy shorts. Equipped to him were a bunch of quivers stationed below his belt, as well as a bow over his shoulders.
Excitedly over the prospect of new recruits, Iuvenis immediately said hi and asked if he wanted to join them on an escort job to Phandalin. Apparently, he has heard of the advertisement seeking for an escort, and he came exactly for that.
Escort Supplies and Provisions to Barthen's Provision in Phandalin. Elmar Barthen will pay each character 10GP.
The tabaxi then introduced himself as Blaze.
Shortly afterwards, a kobold came into view. The kobold has a pair of purple eyes and light blue scales, but he seems to be missing his tail. His horns are decorated with small chains and his outfit consists of a long scarf-like cape and long, loose sleeves, as well as reading glasses. He holds a plain book with him, occasionally scribbling in it and intently scanning its pages.
Iuvenis looked at both the youngsters and was glad that she was among new adventurers. She secretly hoped that they get along well, unlike her own siblings, though as she thought of this, she can't help but feel curious of the beings that just entered as she has lack of knowledge on both their races. They seemed so adorable though that she starts to wonder if all non-humans are as adorable as they are.
Similarly, Iuvenis asked the kobold if he was here for the escort mission. The kobold gave an affirmative to the question, and Iuvenis gladly accepted him to the party after getting to know him as Minerva.
Before they left for the inn, Iuvenis saw a satchel with a paper carefully scrolled on top of the bag. Iuvenis suspects it belongs to her employer and decided to investigate the parchment to be sure. It was indeed the map of the coast, with an X at the mountainside near Phandalin. It was enough to give her the affirmative that this was indeed Gundren’s belonging, so she took it with her without inspecting the bag.
Iuvenis then explained how the wagon works, and they decided to have Rana and Quin to hold the reins while the others sits in the wagon.
Almost immediately, they set off for Phandalin.
